What is cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease?

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases, are the general term for both. It is a common disease that seriously threatens the health of humans (especially middle-aged and older people over the age of 50) and is characterized by high prevalence, high disability and high mortality.

What is cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease?

What diseases include cardiovascular disease?

Cardiovascular disease is a disease caused by heart and blood vessel diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, hypertensive heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, heart failure, and cardiomyopathy.

What diseases include cerebrovascular diseases?
In general, cerebrovascular diseases include ischemic cerebrovascular disease and hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease.
Ischemic cerebrovascular disease: is a neurological dysfunction caused by insufficient blood supply to the brain, including:

Transient ischemic attack: transient neurological dysfunction due to local brain or retinal ischemia;

Cerebral infarction (also known as stroke): a neurological dysfunction caused by persistent occlusion of blood vessels caused by cerebral thrombosis or cerebral embolism. If the treatment is not timely, this neurological dysfunction can exist for a long time.

Hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease: is a neurological dysfunction caused by cerebral vascular rupture, including:

      1.Cerebral hemorrhage: refers to cerebral vascular rupture, mostly caused by hypertension, cerebral arteriosclerosis, tumors and so on.

      2.Subarachnoid hemorrhage: due to rupture of blood vessels on the surface of the brain and the bottom of the brain, blood directly into the subarachnoid space. Common causes are aneurysm rupture, vascular malformation, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, and blood diseases.

Who is prone to cardiovascular disease?
People with the following conditions are more likely to have cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases: high blood pressure, high blood fat, diabetes, smoking, long-term heavy drinking, overweight/obesity, lack of exercise, etc.

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are the top killers of human death. The number of people who die of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases every year is as high as 15 million, ranking first in all causes of death, higher than cancer and other diseases.

What are the common clinical manifestations of cardiovascular disease?
Different types of diseases, clinical manifestations are not the same, the common symptoms are: palpitations, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chest pain, chest discomfort, edema, purple skin, syncope, cough and hemoptysis.

 What are the common clinical manifestations of cerebrovascular diseases? Different types of diseases have different clinical manifestations. Common symptoms include sputum, numbness, headache, unclear speech, disturbance of consciousness, visual impairment, nausea and vomiting.

What are the risk factors for cardiovascular disease?
1. age;
2. Lack of nutrients such as antioxidants; lack of exercise;
3. Diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and abnormal lipoprotein status;
4. Smoking and secondhand smoke, air pollution, noise;
